THE HANDLE BAR – ULTIMATE GIRONA GRAVEL TOUR

PRESENTED BY GRAVEL_BIKES.CC

– 5th to 12th August 2023 –

– 2nd to 9th September 2023 –

“When I first visited Girona I knew I was dropping into cycling heaven, in a beautiful old city that had a wonderful energy and vibe. However each day I discovered more and more to love about this awesome location, much of it on the gravel roads of the region.

I want everyone who loves gravel, or thinks that they could love gravel. to have the opportunity to feel the sun on their face when they had a morning coffee, to ride to the river to swim, to eat the most wonderful locally sourced food and to be silenced by the beauty of the countryside. And of course to ride the most magnificent diverse gravel roads you can imagine.

A chance meeting followed by a couple of chats over coffee and I realised that the guys at Grit Girona could create a week of gravel here that could showcase my love of the gravel routes, the countryside, the food, and the city.

I believe that the tour that we’ve created for you will blow your mind, no matter what your experience of gravel riding has been.

GUIDES

You will be accompanied each day with two ride guides, who have years of experience when it comes to the best gravel of the Girona region. They guide by knowing the routes rather than by looking down at GPX files. When they aren’t guiding, they’re exploring, so that you can focus on enjoying the ride rather than wondering if you’re on the right track. The routes that they have created for this week really do show the best of Girona gravel and perhaps the best gravel you’ll ever experience.

With backgrounds in world class off-road coaching and wilderness guiding, your guides will ensure that your week with The Handle Bar is full of all the kinds of challenging and funny incidents that create the best kinds of memories. Technically the routes vary from smooth fine gravel to rough farm tracks and singletrack, but there will be nothing that a standard gravel bike and competent cyclist is not able to cope with.

We have also arranged for a walking tour of Girona on one of the evenings, not only essential for fans of Game of Thrones but anyone interested in navigating the cute stone streets and discovering more of this stunning little city.
